Joey is a Director of Photography and Steadicam Operator based in Wilmington, North Carolina, with more than a decade of experience shooting narrative, commercial, and documentary work. Known for his specialty in camera movement, he brings a rare range of technical capability to every project, from aerial cinematography high above the landscape to underwater work beneath the surface. Joey’s approach is rooted in the belief that movement should serve the story. Whether he’s designing a sweeping aerial reveal, a fluid tracking shot, or an intimate underwater sequence, he combines technical precision with a strong visual sensibility to create images that feel purposeful and immersive. His background as a camera operator gives him a hands-on understanding of what it takes to execute ambitious shots safely and efficiently on set. Working from the Southeast’s coastal film hub, he collaborates with directors, agencies, and producers to deliver cinematic imagery across every environment, whether on land, in the air, or in the water.
