Post house

Editorial

Editorial is the stage where footage comes to life. An editor assembles the material, finds the story, and cuts toward a version that ties all the pieces together. At Port City Films, editorial happens in-house, which means the people who shot the footage work closely with those cutting it.

What happens first

The footage gets backed up before anything else. Every card is verified, copied, and stored. Then the edit gets built by our team with your feedback. An assembly comes first, then a rough cut, then the rounds it takes to get to your final version.

Who cuts the work

Our team of in-house staff editors , with collaboration from a director and a post-production producer. The room also holds assistant editors, colorists, designers, animators, and VFX artists. We believe in building a strong team that can work seamlessly across many phases of post production. After all, an impactful edit is built on trust: a reliable, responsive workflow, a confident point of view, and real collaboration.

Do you edit footage you did not capture?

Yes. Editorial can be offered on its own. Agencies and internal corporate content teams bring their raw footage to Port City Films and leave with finished cuts.

How long does an edit take?

It depends on the length of the video, the volume of footage, and how many rounds of feedback are needed. A single social cut and a three-minute founder film require different approaches and timelines.

We scope each project at discovery and work with you to create a delivery schedule and milestones.
